The 12 Books of Christmas
Posted on 12/07/17 in Book News
Every year I set a goal for the number of books I’m going to read and I record my goal in Goodreads. This year I hope to meet my goal of twelve books. I’m planning to finish my eleventh book (The Kite Runner) this weekend so I can start my twelfth book. But of course, I want to read way more books than I actually have time for. So in the spirit of the holiday season I have come up with 12 books, for the 12 days preceding Christmas, I would love to read this holiday season if I was able to manipulate time (hmmm, future book theme, perhaps).
- Switched by Amanda Hocking (Indie)
- Remembrance by Michelle Madow (Indie)
- Winter Queen by Amber Argyle (Indie)
- All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
- Legend by Marie Lu
- Possession by Elana Johnson
- Matched by Ally Condie
- Cinder by Marissa Meyer
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
- The Martian by Andy Weir
- Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Holiday Gift Giving
And what good is reading all the awesome books without sharing the love. A few years ago I purchased my niece, Amelia, some classic books, including Little Women. I even made journals for my family members to nurture their own writing. I decorated the journal covers to reflect each person. If I was to purchase a book for Christmas for each of my family members I would choose:
The Elixir of Freedom by M.R. Neer for my son, Nicholas.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson for my daughter-in-law, Christina.
The Maze Runner by James Dashner for my husband, Kevin.
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl for my sister, Monica.
The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard for my niece, Serena.
Princess Academy by Shannon Hale for my niece, Amelia.
The Selection by Kiera Cass for my niece, Marissa
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier for my mom, Linda.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak for my dad, Art.
The Nethergrim by Matthew Jobin for my all my nephews (Andrew, Matthew, Ryan, Nathan, Rickson, Samuel, Noah)
Speaking of books . . . I am giving away 5 books of The Immundus, to be received in January before anyone else receives them, since my book is not released until February 6. Click below for more information.
